Stroud Rodeo and Campdraft 2016

Hunter Gal spent a couple of days out in Stroud at the 2016 Rodeo and Camp Draft over Friday and Saturday of this weekend.

Friday’s action was centred around the smaller of the rings where the Camp Drafting was taking place. This is a fast paced event which focusses on both the skills of the rider and the horse, the steer is released from a pen and at the sound of the whip crack, the rider takes off in hot pursuit steering the beast around a series of obstacles while racing the clock. With enthusiasm running high, two of our reps here at Hunter Gal, Jeff McCarthy and Tony Kalesovski, took turns manning the gate as the competitors were leaving the ring after their event. John McCrumm was also in attendance on Friday and describes the event as a “great spectacle”.

Danny Lozanovski and Kyle Hesketh treated their families to a day at the Rodeo on Saturday for a glorious day of big crowds and lots of fun entertainment and action for the whole family. The days events included Bull Riding, Team Roping and Camp Drafting and made for a very enjoyable family day out.

John Hunter Hospital

As part of the newly constructed $13.9m Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at John Hunter Hospital, Hunter Galvanizing worked in close partnership with Nelson Bay Steel Fabricators to galvanize over 30tonnes of structural steel.

The facility will allow children and young people to be treated in a purpose built, state-of-the-art intensive care facility. The PICU will be an eight bed unit, including two isolation rooms available for use. In addition, the unit will be family centred, with a family room and overnight accommodation space.

Access Steps - Sydney Harbour Bridge

In partnership with 4Ken, Hunter Galvanizing hot dip galvanized a series of cantilever stairs (from one board to five board) to be installed on the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. The stair system was designed in-house by 4Ken and eliminates bolting and reduces labour costs.

Due to the exposed location of the stair’s, galvanizing was specified by the RMS to ensure the products meet the specified 25-year warranty.  Paint alone would only warrant the product for approx. 15 years.
